Implant Restoration

Both the look and function of your teeth are important, and nothing can impact your day-to-day life more than a missing or broken tooth that creates difficulty chewing or speaking. In many of these cases, dental implants are a long-term, often permanent solution for both restoring function and enhancing appearance. A dental implant refers to the surgical “implanting” of a titanium post to the jawbone in the location of the missing tooth, over which a crown is later fitted. Dental implants can last for years when placed properly by experienced professionals, but accidents and injuries can and do happen. Creative Dental Studio specializes in the placement of custom crowns over implant posts as well as the restoration of implants and crowns damaged from injury or other accident, restoring your confidence and quality of life in the process. Bridges

Missing or damaged teeth not only create discomfort, but can lead to additional damage over time. The need to chew or speak differently, or to otherwise compensate for the missing or injured tooth, reassigns dental pressure to sensitive areas. To avoid painful complications related to a missing or damaged tooth, Dr. Landreneau may recommend a bridge. A dental bridge is essentially a set of three prosthetic teeth that anchors over the top of the two healthy teeth on either side of the missing tooth. The result is restored functionality and comfort. Because bridges can now be milled out of porcelain, they’re more natural looking than their earlier counterparts made of precious metals. Unlike dental implants, bridges do not require oral surgery, but will typically need replacing every 10 to 15 years.

Crowns

Sometimes referred to as “caps,” crowns are custom-milled prosthetic teeth that act as a protective barrier against harmful bacteria. Primarily used to protect remaining tooth enamel after decay has been removed, crowns may also be used in conjunction with dental implant posts to replace a missing or extracted tooth. In former years, crowns were made out of gold or silver, but new porcelain crowns restore function while making your dental work nearly undetectable. Your smile with thank you!

Inlays/Onlays

Effectively treating tooth decay may not always require tooth extraction. In some cases, Dr. Landreneau can remove only a portion of the tooth tissue and replace it with a custom-molded porcelain inlay or onlay that fills in and adheres tightly onto the vacant space. Traditionally, inlays and onlays were made out of precious metals, much like fillings. Now, porcelain-milled inlays and onlays are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.

TMJ

If you suffer with persistent muscle aches in the neck or back, headaches, migraines or an aching lower jaw, Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ) may be to blame. TMJ can be caused by a variety of conditions, including involuntary clenching or grinding of the teeth while sleeping, a previous injury to the jaw or damage to the joint cartilage from arthritis. The result is a stiff, aching jawline that triggers pain throughout much of the body.

While many cases of TMJ are relatively minor and will heal themselves, more serious cases may require dental intervention. Without proper treatment, TMJ can sometimes result in permanent damage to tooth enamel and the supportive structures of your mouth, so it’s always best to schedule an evaluation with Dr. Landreneau if symptoms of this painful condition appear.

Botox®

What gives youthful skin its plump, supple appearance? Collagen. This amino acid protein is naturally occurring, but collagen production slows as we age. The result is skin that loses its youthful glow, leaving behind fine lines and wrinkles. Dr. Landreneau can’t make anyone seventeen again, but you can take years off your appearance with Botox® treatments—and enhance your sparkling smile in the process. Botox® can be used nearly anywhere on the face, and is especially effective at smoothing brow and frown lines. Under Dr. Landreneau’s expert care, Botox® treatments produce natural-looking results and are both safe and convenient. Schedule a Botox® treatment with your next dental appointment and get ready to turn back the clock!
